I think global warming and biodiversity loss will kill off us naked apes before Black Mirror AI powered robot dogs do . Either way, we’re the architects. We’ll actually it’s the tech oligarchs, but they’re also naked apes (pretty sure)
But thanks for that enlightening and horrifying glimpse into the abyss. Good writing.
Wow, that was fascinating! How did ChatGPT already know about your work and your writings? Was it because of previous interactions, or had you specifically uploaded your writing, or was it just getting those contexts from your content that’s already out in the public domain?
I’ve experimented with ChatGPT before to help me with the more community oriented side of my work so it knows a lot about the Solarpunk community building side of my life, and then I’ve uploaded it some of my essay writing. I’ve made a very strong point to never let it write for me- I don’t like how it writes anyway - but I’ve found it very good at organizing thoughts I’ve already worked on. As you can sorta see from this conversation- a lot of it is structured mirroring of thoughts and beliefs I already hold or have talked to it about; but with perhaps some filling in with extra context.
An enlightening experiment! Thank you for the transparency (including in the comments).
The line between human-AI symbiosis and the relationship becoming one between host and behaviour-altering parasite is going to be a very fine one. I fear for the techbros it has already been transgressed.
Why can’t writers use AI? Most are smarter than the average bear, are great at blowing air up your arse and never make spilling mistakes. I use them all the time… and I’m still writing.
Pulse, Claude now knows more about me than is safe. I have to say nice things about him.

Glad you found it interesting too!
